Loughborough, UK, 24 July 2018 – Cenex today released the seminar programme for Cenex-LCV2018 (www.cenex-lcv.co.uk), the UK’s largest technology showcasing and networking event for the UK low carbon vehicle community. Senior figures from the industry, including the Ford Motor Company, McLaren and the National Grid, will join other innovators, experts and policy-makers to review and discuss the future of low carbon vehicles and supporting energy infrastructure in the UK and Europe.
The largest-ever programme will see over 90 speakers share their expertise at seminars and workshops over the two-day event, which takes place on 12–13 September 2018, at Millbrook in Bedfordshire. Topics include trends in electric vehicles (EVs) and e-mobility, ultra-low emissions vehicle (ULEV) policy and the market trends, and smart-charging solutions for EV business fleets. The complete seminar programme and speakers’ biographies are available at https://www.cenex-lcv.co.uk/seminars.
The event features keynote presentations from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Automotive Council Technology Group, the Advanced Propulsion Centre, Innovate UK, and the Ford Motor Company. They will discuss, among other topics, the transition to a low carbon and connected economy, the future of mobility, alternative fuels, and the latest technical updates on energy management and storage, powertrain technology and vehicle connectivity.
In its 11th year, the event is expected to be its biggest yet, attracting up to 4,000 visitors, who will attend networking events, seminars and workshops on all aspects of low carbon vehicle development and policy, as well as touring the extensive indoor and outdoor exhibition.
Since launching the LCV event in 2008, Cenex has worked with government agencies and organisations to ensure it provides a technology showcase for UK capabilities in low carbon vehicles, advancing the agenda and discussions in this area. With three halls and outdoor space for both static vehicle displays and a ride & drive test track, Cenex-LCV has become the key event for the low carbon vehicle community in the UK and beyond.
Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex, said, “Following the government’s recently released Road to Zero Strategy, which confirmed its ambition to see at least half of new cars ultra-low emission by 2030, I am excited that the low carbon vehicle industry is coming of age. Each year sees faster progress, and LCV attendees will have a perfect opportunity to learn about the latest developments in low carbon and low emission technology, as well as connected and autonomous vehicles, though our wide-ranging seminar programme. As the UK’s largest technology-showcasing event for low carbon vehicles, it also offers an unrivalled opportunity to network with innovators, researchers and manufacturers.”
